So you’ve decided you want to be an Adsense publisher. Great! Now, what niche do you decide to publish in? And how do you decide?
Remember from our previous lesson, a niche is just the market you’re going to be in. It should be narrow enough that you’re not competing with a huge number of established sites. Let’s try some examples:Bad niche ideas (for novices like us):
Now that you have a niche picked out, let’s register a domain name for your new site.
First we need to come up with a list of possible domain names. They should contain your niche keyword that you came up with in the previous lesson. We were looking at Google Keyword Tool for search phrases related to “‘greyhound obedience” and one that came up in the tool was “how to train a puppy”. It met our criteria for a good keyword: high search volume (15,000), low/medium competition, and a CPC of $1.50.
So let’s try to find a domain with that keyword phrase or something similar in the domain. One tool we can use to find possible domain names is namemesh.com .
